The dynamics of magnetic irregularites and plasmoids in the solar wind is examined, and the simplest magnetic configuration is found to be nonequilibrium. Hence, discontinuities and current layers must inevitably form at the plasmoid boundaries. Plasmoids with a more complex magnetic field configuration are in equilibrium but unstable; as a result of instability development, equilibrium is lost and current-layer formation is inevitable. This process is superimposed on the acceleration of plasmoids in the nonuniform magnetic field (coronal hole). An evaluation is made of the anomalous diffusion rate of the magnetic field and field-line reconnection at plasmoid boundaries due to plasma instabilities.
