Optimization of the choice of synthetic aperture for astronomical interferometry is discussed. A procedure based on the notion of resolution to control the choice of parameters for a compromise between robustness and resolution is outlined. The regularization and deconvolution procedure is applied to the high-resolution study of the B component of the double QSO 2345 + 007.
