Scientific paper

A rocket payload consisting of 10 experiments to study plasma instabilities in the auroral E region (with incoherent scatter radar) is listed. Rockets measure electric and magnetic fields, plasma density, neutral air density, electron temperature, and ion mass distribution. The EISCAT radars measure ion drifts, ion tenperature, and electron density height profile. Scandinavian Twin Auroral Radar Experiment measures scattering intensity, mean radial Doppler velocity, and the spectral distribution of the scattered signals.
