The Chandrasekhar-Kendall (1957) functions (C-K functions), the eigenfunctions of a curl operator, have been used by several authors to express the magnetic field and fluid velocity. In this paper the magnetohydrodynamical equations are used for a case of plasma in a cylinder with rigid perfectly-conducting walls. It is shown that the relationship used in expressing the magnetic field is not satisfied by the C-K functions.
