The paper presents an analysis and a modification of the results reported by Sinha (1986) on the charge to neutral ratio of hadrons at extremely high energies, using a model for multiparticle production phenomena. The proposed modification pertains not to any basic foundational ideas on which the proposed mechanisms of the Sinha model rest, but to a singular parameterization used in the model, which introduces an element of arbitrariness. It is shown that to arrive at very accurate theoretical values of the charge to neutral ratio of hadrons, it is necessary to consider the facts that many hadron collisions are not only nucleon-nucleus interactions but are pion-nucleus collisions and that the complications owing to the differences between the collision mean free paths of pions, kaons, and nucleons affect the state of particle mixture at higher levels in the atmosphere. The modification brings closer agreement of the basic model with experimental data and gives the model wider applicability.
