The faint features of the S0(0) line of H2 observed at the Jovian atmosphere in the Voyager IRIS mission have been made subject of thorough theoretical studies. The presently best available non-spherical interaction potential of H2-H2 and very recently improved ab initio results of the induced dipole moment have been used for obtaining absorption spectra which are quantitatively reliable. Some significant corrections of previously published theoretical results have been found and are discussed in this letter.
