An investigation was conducted regarding the pictures of the sky or celestial objects which can be obtained with an Exakta-Varex camera and a 24x36 mm film if focal lengths in the range from 21 to 19200 mm are employed. A Newton telescope and a Maksutov telescope were used. Attention was given to the possibility to enhance resolution by the use of longer focal lengths.
