This paper investigates the question whether the decentered dipole model can be applied to all magnetic stars. Several new models are derived for individual stars and it can be shown that this particular oblique rotator model yields satisfactory results for most of the magnetic stars. A detailed discussion of the results cannot confirm the existence of a low-obliquity group among the magnetic stars.
