Scientific paper

The visual binary containing the well-known eclipsing pair VW Cephei is
studied with combined visual and astrometric data: P = 29.0 yr, a =
0.428 arcsec. The orbit and the parallax 0.038 arcsec give masses in
agreement with radial-velocity and light-curve results: 0.8, 0.3, and
0.6 solar masses, respectively.
