We have analyzed new data from the TAOS occultation survey and set new, sensitive upper limits to the number density of KBOs of diameter D<30 km, and of objects in Sedna-like orbits. We present the first constraints on models of the formation and evolution of the Solar System based on occultation survey data.
We show what future occultation programs must be able to do in order to survey comprehensively the populations of small bodies in the outer solar system, and describe a Discovery class mission, Whipple, that can achieve these goals.
