This work deals with the analysis of different images of comets C/2001 Q4 and C/2003 K4 acquired with Spitzer at 24 μm, in order to investigate their dust environment properties. The analysis is made by using simulated images built by a Monte Carlo procedure of particle ejection. Once we get the orbital parameters for each comet, we need to stablish the values for the input parameters: ejection velocity v0, angular ejection model, β range, and age range. Then, we divide the total β and age ranges in six subranges each, in order to obtain a total of 36 simulated images. The final synthetic image is then a linear combination of those simulated images with coefficients ci. Then we quantify the quality of the fit by a χ2 test. Those 36 ci(βj,tk) constants represent the contribution of each image to the final one. If we maintain the age constant, ci(βj) are related to the size distribution function in each tk, so that its temporal evolution can be tracked.
