In the present paper S-bursts and narrow-band continuous emission is proposed to probe conditions existing in the Jovian ionosphere and the Io flux tube. Our assumption is based on the plasma model of generation of these emissions according to which plasma waves are excited at the frequency of upper-hybrid resonance, and then converted into extraordinary electromagnetic waves at frequencies near the cut-off frequency. Some details of the process of the electron precipitation into the Jovian atmosphere from the Io flux tube are examined, as well, and parameters for precipitating electrons as a function of the parameters of S-bursts and narrow-band emission are found. Series of observational data obtained at the Lustbuehel and Nancay observatories are analyzed on the basis of the proposed method with the aim to recognize inherent phenomena and to obtain information about the plasma state in that region where the narrow-band emission and S-bursts are generated. We are also interested to get information on the electron fluxes precipitating into the Jovian atmosphere. Numerical estimations of the density and particle energy of the injected electrons, plasma density in the source of S-bursts, and the recombination coefficient of the plasma in the Jovian ionosphere are obtained.
