The human settlement of Mars is not so far away, and it is necessary to transform our current situation into a spacefaring civilization. But, how can we do it? First of all, we have to batter down the political, financial and engineer obstacles that have thus far obstructed humanity from entering the real space age. Then, we have to discuss the possibilities inherent in human activity for peering out into the universe and to explore the resources that will guarantee humankind's future existence. Finally, we have to solve technological and scientific problems associated with interstellar travels and the detection of other intelligent species in space. That's why spacelaw must go ahead. Space is the new face of industry and commerce, because it is plenty of resources for doing business. Matters such as space property and insurance; urban planning; space-business opportunities (space tourism, establishment of worldwide communication satellite networks, export of satellites for launch, exploitation of natural resources...); military uses of outer space; or national licensing for satellite services must be solve by spacelaw before they crop up.
