At TELAS we have been working for several years to develop the technology for mirrors of telescopes using stiff and light blanks in other materials than glass. Aluminum alloys offer good properties and this paper deals with how we can quantified the aging effect, by accelerated cycles in order to simulate about 50 years of the lifetime of a real mirror.
