The orbit of 1973-86AW has been analysed at 13th-order resonance using 474 U.S. Navy orbits. After removal of all perturbations except those owing to resonance, the variations in inclination, eccentricity and mean motion have been analysed to determine six lumped geopotential harmonics of order 13. The accuracies in geoid height of four of these lumped harmonics are better than 0.5 cm. The results are also useful in providing a check on recent comprehensive geopotential models, which emerge well from the comparison.
