In the context of the Local (Virgo-centred) Supercluster of galaxies, a statistical study is made of the radio-derived properties for the 165 spiral and irregular galaxies in the recently published `Complete Sample' by Fitt & Alexander. I find a trend for a larger neutral hydrogen mass in spiral galaxies located farther from the plane of the Local Supercluster (or smaller HI mass in spiral galaxies closer to the Local Supercluster plane). A previously known result, of a deficiency of HI mass in spiral galaxies located radially close to the centre of the Virgo cluster, is seen again in the `Complete Sample'. Contrary to some theoretical predictions, the magnetic field strength in spiral galaxies does not seem to be well correlated with the star-formation efficiency or the neutral hydrogen mass.
