This study deals with the absorption spectrum of SO2 in 1000 - 1500 cm-1 wave numbers where two fundamental oscillation bands of sulfur dioxide are located. Height profiles of the radiative flux in the "transparency window" of 680 - 2350 cm-1 where SO2 dominates the atmospheric opacity were modeled and the results were compared with those that have been obtained when the classic approximation for the absorption spectrum of SO2 molecule was used.
