The correlation between the specific frequency of globular clusters and the local galaxy density around their host galaxy is investigated, together with the correlation between the specific frequency and the central velocity dispersion of the host galaxy. Except for a few galaxies, we found significant correlations such that the specific frequency increases with both the local galaxy density around the host galaxy and the velocity dispersion. These correlations strongly support the theory that the globular cluster formation is triggered by high velocity collisions between giant gas clouds.
