Data from the first two years of EGRET observations has been analyzed for point sources. The analysis has been performed using all photons with E > 100 MeV and maximum likelihood techniques. This analysis emphasizes strong, non-variable sources while supressing weak, variable sources. The number and location of point sources found by this analysis near the Galactic plane is comparable with those published in the First EGRET Source Catalog (Fichtel et al.,1994). These sources include the five known pulsars and 24 unidentified point sources. Comparision of the position of the unidentified gamma ray point sources with known supernova remnants (SNR) indicates a statistically significant correlation, better than 4sigma (Esposito et al., 1994). The positions of two of the unidentified point sources have very stong correlations with the positions of the SNRs gamma Cygni and IC443. If these two unidentified point sources are related to the SNRs then their gamma ray spectra may indicate possible cosmic ray acceleration The intensity and spectra of these two unidentified point sources will be presented and interpretation of the results will be discussed.
