There is no basic difference between the physics of electric charge acquisition for large bodies (like artificial satellites or rock blocks) and small grains in the interplanetary, interstellar or circumstellar plasma. However, size effects can be important for some of the processes contributing to the charge exchange through currents.
The charging processes are reviewed and discussed together with computational methods.
