We present new Johnson BV CCD photometry of the young cluster NGC 330 in the Small Magellanic Cloud and of a nearby field. Comparing the surface brightness profile of the cluster with the density distribution models of Meylan (1987, 1988) and Elson (1991) we derive the structural parameters, namely the ellipticity, the concentration, and the core and tidal radii. The photometric quality and completeness of the data are analyzed in great detail to derive the reference Color-Magnitude Diagram (CMD) and the Luminosity Function (LF) for main sequence stars of the cluster.
