Observations of the flares of red dwarfs in various spectral ranges are examined. The flares are shown to represent a highly dramatic stage of magnetic-field evolution in the atmospheres of late-type stars. The observed phenomena appear to occur in a sequence commencing with sudden short-duration releases of very small amounts of energy, and encompassing the multihour reconnection of the magnetic fields of immense coronal loops possibly located on different components of binary systems of RS CVn type. The total energies of the processes considered range from 10 to the 28th to 10 to the 37th erg, while the powers at maximum range from 10 to the 28th to 10 to the 30th erg/s.
