The results of an extensive radio continuum survey at 5 GHz with the 100
m Effelsberg telescope and the Very Large Array of a large sample of
edge-on spiral galaxies (181 galaxies) are presented. The aim of this
survey was to find candidates for more extensive studies on radio halos
and on outflow phenomena from the nuclei of these galaxies.
