We propose a 120~ks observation to search for X-ray pulsations from PSR J2021+3651, the first of the new high-energy gamma-ray pulsars of the AGILE and Fermi era, and to map any spectral changes across its large, extended outer nebula. Pulsed GeV emission from this source was strongly detected by both the Fermi and AGILE missions. Deep Chandra imaging of the inner nebula shows that the pulsar is embedded in a compact torus+jet shaped nebula, requiring correspondingly deep observations with XMM-Newton to measure X-ray pulsations. We will simultaneously perform sensitive imaging of the outer nebula which extends over 20 arcminutes and is likely associated with the TeV source MGRO J2019+37.
