Disks of dusty material around young stars are the birth places of planetary systems. Many such disks have been detected in the submm to mm bands, but few have been spatially resolved to reveal any type of internal structure. Such structure, e.g. central gaps, density gradients, clumpiness or brightness asymmetries, may be indirect evidence of planet formation. We wish to build on the success of our ATCA observations of the Herbig star HD100546, where we not only resolved the emission at 3, 7 and 16 mm, but also found an inner disk clearing at radii less than about 15 AU and a brightness asymmetry between the two sides, plus arm-like extensions toward outer radii. Thus we wish to extend our study to additional Herbig star systems, and propose to image at 7 mm the disks of HD97048 and HD142527. Both have structure observed in their disks by optical and near-IR scattered radiation, plus thermal-IR emission, but which currently lack complementary resolved millimetre data which - due to the emission being optically thin - more directly probes the bulk of the disk mass.
