A Chandra observation of the type Ib SN 2006jc (CBET #666, ATel #916, ATel #917) was performed on 2006-11-04 23:33:00 UT. An X-ray source is detected in the 10.0 ks ACIS-S3 observation at the optical position of the SN, with an offset of <0.5 arcsec, at a 3.0-sigma level of significance. The net count rate of (1.0+/-0.3)E-03 cts/s corresponds to a (0.2-10 keV) X-ray flux and luminosity of (1.0+/-0.3)E-14 ergs/cm/cm/s and (6+/-2)E38 ergs/s, respectively, for an adopted thermal plasma spectrum with a temperature of kT=10 keV, a Galactic foreground column density of N_H = 3.2E+20 (Dickey & Lockman, 1990, ARAA 28, 215) and a distance of 23.6 Mpc (z = 0.00557, NED; Ho = 71 km/s/Mpc, O_M = 1/3, O_L = 2/3).
