AGILE has been detecting during the last 2 days an increasing gamma-ray flux above 100 MeV from a source positionally consistent with the blazar PKS 2142-758 (RA: 326.803, Dec: -75.603). Integrating from 2010-04-10 11:30 UT to 2010-04-12 21:00 UT, a quick-look maximum likelihood analysis yields a detection at a significance level of about 5 sigma and a source flux F=(2.6 ± 0.9) x 10-6 ph/cm2/sec (E > 100 MeV).
