An attempt is made to clarify why the spherical reflector could be chosen as a basic unit of the planned LT (Large Radio Telescope) project. Restricted sky coverage, one of well-known disadvantages of the spherical reflector, is being improved at Arecibo, that can be alleviated by a suitable choice of geometry parameters of the reflector. Observable region, tracking duration and rational investment associated with the choice are discussed in this note.
