The present investigation of the W33 region's molecular gas distribution has mapped the (C-13)O and (C-12)O J = 2-1 lines, and selectively observed the corresponding J = 1-0 transitions. The peak (C-13)O column density is about 10 to the 17th/sq cm, and occurs at the position of the radio continuum source G12.8-0.2. The temperature and density structure within this region are complex, and the rotational line intensity ratio cannot be reliably used to determine density. It is found that n(H2) of about 500/cu cm and a standard (C-13)O fractional abundance throughout most of the cloud, in conjunction with a higher density core having lower CO fractional abundance, yield good agreement with the column density distribution. Total cloud mass is 0.2-2.0 million solar masses.
