Measurements of the coherence time for a 430-MHz Very Long Baseline Interferometer are presented. Observations of 42 radio sources with compact structure show that the coherence time varies strongly and systematically through the course of a day. The results may be of use for observers who plan sensitive VLBI experiments at long decimeter wavelengths.
