Observations of the 6 cm H2CO line in seven dark clouds are reported. Strong absorption lines have been detected over a region >10arcmin in each cloud. These observations can be compared with published results of 13CO and of 2 mm and 2 cm H2CO obtained with similar spatial resolution. The spatial extent of 6 cm absorption is comparable to that of 13CO emission in these clouds but much larger than the extent of H2CO 2 mm emission and 2 cm absorption. It is suggested that the 6 cm line arises from a lower density region than does either the 2 cm or 2 mm H2CO lines.
