The contribution of the high satellites to the Mg XI resonance line has been evaluate; from the results previously calculated for the n equals 3,4 dielectronic lines. New calculations of the effective excitation rates of the heliumlike lines and the inner-shell satellites have been carried out using the methods developed for iron and calcium in the isoelectronic sequence. For the heliumlike lines these rates include direct excitation and the contributions due to cascade and recombination. These results are used for fitting an active region spectrum obtained by Parkinson (1972). Two high satellite features must be shifted to longer wavelength in order to obtain good wavelength agreement over the entire spectral range.
