High resolution spectra of 51 Peg have been obtained in order to determine the projected rotational velocity vsini of 51 Peg by using spectrum synthesis methods. Values ranging from 2.3 to 2.5km/s have been found favoring a low inclination of the plane of the orbit of the companion. This suggests that 0.45M_J_
