This paper develops a solution for the problem of stability for a
compressible fluid jet ambient with a bounded conducting medium of
negligible inertia under a general varying magnetic field, using the
normal mode analysis. The relation derived is valid for all axisymmetric
and nonaxisymmetric perturbations.
