This paper briefly presents the basic equations of a 5-dimensional projective unified field theory and their physical interpretation. The main intention is to confront this theory with physical experience. For this reason the Einstein effects (including the exact solutions for a central body) are treated in detail. Also discussed are the first-order effects on the quasi-Newtonian level, with reference to the equivalence principle.
