The polarization due to differential saturation of Zeeman components is noticeably reduced in blended lines. Therefore, the polarization cannot increase very much in a crowded spectrum even though the fraction of the continuum subtracted by lines is larger and larger. Here, the influence of blends on K-type spectra is discussed. Arcturus is considered as an example.
