Spetrograms obtained between 1924 and 1975 have been used to derive orbital elements for HD 170200. No completely convincing evidence has been found for any change in these elements during the past 51 years, although the most recent velocities appear to lie systematically below the average velocity curve. On several plates sharp, weak absorption lines are found in the violet wings of the primary-star lines. These cannot be identified with the secondary star and are interpreted as evidence for discontinuous mass loss from the primary.
