An exact solution of the time-dependent equation of radiative transfer for the intensity of radiation from a semi-infinite homogeneous plane-parallel isotropically scattering atmosphere whose surface is illuminated by a pulse radiation beam. The solution is obtained in the form of an infinite convergent series, with allowance for the mean time of temporal capture and the mean free time. Each term of the solution is a product of two known functions: an elementary function and the finite-order scattering function that has been tabulated by Uesugi and Irvine (1970).
