The design of any interstellar mission depends upon accurate information on astronomical data pertinent to the mission objectives and direction. Because of the large differences in published astronomical data, this report has been compiled to give a standard set of data to be used in mission planning for the British Interplanetary Society's Project Daedalus study. The report also contains a brief description of astronomical terminology and a discussion of the nearby stellar systems.
