It is suggested that the diffuse background spectrum observed at hard X-ray and gamma-ray energies can be accounted for by Seyferts. Presented as evidence are specific Type I Seyfert galaxies which have been positively identified as X-ray sources, e.g., NGC4151 and 3C120. Their spectra are both hard, and extend to cutoff energies of greater than 100 keV, up to 1 MeV. Still higher energies have been observed from NGC4151, where the power law is extended from the hard X-ray range to a break at 3 MeV, i.e., gamma-ray range.
