The correction to the gravitational radiation from a very close binary
system because of effects of finite size of the components is
calculated. It is shown that this would be zero if there is no departure
from spherical symmetry, small in 'normal' systems but very significant
in systems like a white dwarf orbiting about a massive black hole.
