Polarization observations of CRL 2688 (the Egg Nebula) show the
polarization to vary from 40 percent at 3800 A to 52 percent near 9400
A. Observations of both components are also given. Polarization and
reddening models seem to indicate graphite rather than silicate
particles and a column density of the order of 1 billion per sq cm.
