The theory of quasi-transverse propagation of radio radiation in pulsar
magnetospheres leads to a model in which the intrinsic pulsar emission
is linearly polarized, and circular polarization is produced as an
effect of the quasi-transverse propagation. Various other observed
features of the polarization are likewise explained.
