NGC 5929 is a nearby Seyfert 2 galaxy with particularly simple double-lobed radio structure. The relationship between radio emission and line-emitting gas is investigated using three different techniques: Very Long Baseline radio Interferometry (VLBI), high angular resolution narrow-band imaging, and high-dispersion long-slit spectroscopy. The [O III] emission-line distribution closely matches that of the radio emission, showing two distinct components of different velocity straddling the optical nucleus. These components lie in the same position angle as the radio lobes but fall slightly inside them. Fainter and more diffuse [O III] emission extends further east along a position angle offset from the radio axis by ≡20°. The implications of these results for simple models of the Narrow Line Region are discussed.
