Regular measurements of the OI 6300A and 5577A nightglow, using a tilting filter zenith photometer, were carried out during 1976 to 1977. The results for the period March 1976 to July 1977 are discussed. The observed seasonal and diurnal variations of these emissions were similar to other low-latitude stations. No anomalous behavior of these emissions in this region of the Brazilian magnetic anomaly was found. The diurnal variations of the OI 5577A emission in general showed post-midnight enhancements, but had a strong seasonal dependence with larger enhancements during the winter months.
