Spectra of nine elliptical galaxies and one lenticular system have been measured to determine apparent rotation curves. With two exceptions, only the solid-body part of the rotation curves is observed. The rotation curves of NGC 4459 (S0) and NGC 4621 (E5) are found to flatten beyond the nuclear region. The data show no strong correlation between the central angular velocity and the line-of-sight velocity dispersion. Comparison with the data of this and other studies suggests that theoretical models do not yet adequately reproduce the rotation curves observed in early-type systems.
