Results are reported for a detailed spectrophotometric and morphological study of Haro 15, a galaxy with a fairly strong UV excess. A U-B color index of -0.37 is determined, along with a B-V index of 0.28, a redshift of 0.0215, a distance of 86 Mpc (for H = 75 km/s per Mpc), and an absolute photographic magnitude of -20.8. Emission and absorption lines in spectra of different regions of the galaxy are identified, relative intensities and equivalent widths are given for some emission lines, and a value of 180 per cu cm is obtained for the electron density in the central part of the galaxy. Haro 15 is shown to be distinguished by individual bright regions and knots. It is concluded that Haro 15 is an irregular galaxy with active regions in which intense star formation is occurring.
