High-resolution 6 and 21-cm radio observations and 1-5 micrometer infrared observations are presented of the OH/H2O maser source G12.2-0.1. The strongest H2O emission originates with 4 sec (0.07 pc) of a compact radio source and intense near-infrared source; it is suggested that the infrared source may be the hot (greater than 1000 K) cocoon of a newly-formed O star. The OH and weak H2O sources are located at the edge of a ridge of radio emission, possibly an edge-on ionization front.
