The authors have investigated the UV continuum variability of Sco X-1 using pairs of LORES SWP+LWR spectra secured sequentially at several epochs during 1978 - 80. These data have been corrected for interstellar reddening with EB-V = 0.30 and the standard galactic law. Sco X-1 exhibits large variations in both the level and shape of its UV continuum, showing both high and low intensity states, as at other wavelengths. In the range λ1300 to some longer wavelengths λb its continuum is well matched by a thermal bremsstrahlung model, but beyond λb it follows a power law fν ∝ ν, closely matching the theoretical predictions by Felten & Rees (1972). Significant changes occur in λb with source brightness with important implications for emission models of Sco X-1.
