The Christensen (1978) and Cacciari (1985) collections of absolute spectral energy distributions of Population 2 stars, based on visual and IUE spectrophotometric data respectively, were compared to Kurucz' (1979) theoretical models, with different metallicity, to test the compatibility of the theoretical prediction with the observed flux distributions. Results referring to three stars having different characteristics are presented. The good agreement of the predicted energy distributions with the observed ones shows that in population synthesis studies, Kurucz models can be validly used to integrate the observed star energy distributions or even to mimic them completely, if they are not available.
